Standing
Standing here in a crowded room, the clock strikes one once more
The blaring music on repeat refused to stay on course
Memories, like dancing feet stepped on right, to and fro
Beads of sweat in summer heat suspended with a jolt
Standing here in the sweltering heat, the air it feels so cold
Fuzzy times, funny times, jumbled on shots to go
They are still here, what I thought lost, the memories that you stole
The sound track plays, it’s on repeat, cajoling me to go
Dragging feet with neon lights, converging on one soul
A second sun has risen up, daring to be bold
Standing here in the sweltering heat, the air it feels so cold
Thumping hearts, rushing starts, your eyes, they never told
The fire burned and then it churned, right through the forest soul
When will it rise, the mother’s moon, on woods with hollow poles?
Stuck en motion, music blares, the cigarette smoke, it chokes
Plastic smiles and lines reviled, all things we’ve heard before
Exploding suns in deep night skies, daring to be bold
I’m standing here in the sweltering heat, the air it feels so cold…
